For your Eyes Only

How exposed or how secretive should we keep our resumes? It seems like job seekers all around the United States find it very important to only distribute their resumes to a select few recruiters. Many do not bother saving or storing their resumes on various jobs sites either for the risk of exposing their qualifications or employers having knowledge of your older resumes and the updates you have made to it; so why do job sites insist on having job seekers register to their websites and upload resumes. Why not just directly apply to the listed jobs on these job sites without having to register and store resumes?

There seems to be a site that is catering to this trend of secret resumes, www.fulltimejobs.com. This website gives the job seeker the option to directly apply for the job without having to register and store a resume onto a site. The feature is called "One Click Apply", as the job seeker clicks on a job by industry, at the very bottom of the page you are given the option of "One Click Apply" therefore you now have an option of registering and storing your resume or directly applying for the respective position listed without having to register and save a resume.

Gone are the days where circulating your resume will lead to getting you the interview. Shhhhhhhhhhh!! not anymore. However does this to all job seekers? No, this rule of keeping resumes exclusive and secret only apply to job seekers with years of experience industries. Exposing their resume to everyone can lead to never being contacted by a recruiter or a Company, as vast amounts of experience can mean high salary requirements. This does not apply to Entry-Level job seekers with little or no experience, by all means exhaust whatever avenue possible and get yourself a job.

I gather for this reason Job fairs have become more and more crowded, as job seekers of various industries can one on one talk to recruiters and employers without having to overly exposing their attributes to the rest of the world.
